v1.01 Update
First of all, the response to The Super 1-1 Challenge has been amazing. This little "throw away" experiment has really resonated with people. I'm genuinely quite shocked. I'll be making a video about the response in the coming weeks. I'm currently attempting to rest from free time development for a while.
...that being said a couple of people had issues with Steam VR popping up on launch. Many apologies, I had forgotten to remove the VR plugins from the project file. This has now been fixed. Also, some players had issues running the game because they lacked the correct Direct X prerequisites. These are now included with the game.
Here is a full list of quality of life fixes in v1.01:
- Added DirectX installer/prerequisites
- Added quick restart to "Backspace"
- Added "Right CTRL" and "C" as additional crouch buttons
- Added "Num0" and "Right Shift" as additional jump buttons
- Made left/right arrow keys strafe left/right rather than turn
- Added text when picking up a mushroom (shows health, range and super upgrades)
- You no longer need to crouch to use the underground pipe
- Swapped out some metal box colours (sorry for throwing you all off the scent)
- Fixed textures on mushrooms in secret level
- Replaced music in secret level
- Added logic for alt-sounds in secret level
- Removed VR plugins (don't worry I won't be taking down v1.0)
I don't know if there will be another update or not; I simply had a bit of free time this weekend to provide some fixes and quality of life improvements to the game.
As always, if you'd like to discuss the project with me or others, feel free to drop by the Discord: http://discord.noonan.design/
Thanks, and I hope you continue to enjoy the game!
